Marketing for my business: When establishing my small business, my team and I tried working with several marketing groups to create our business website. We are an engineering group with sophisticated technology. In order to create messaging that will click with potential customers who are reading it, true creativity to transform the technical into the familiar, and – most importantly – an understanding of the technology are required. With previous marketing groups, it proved to be a tall order for them to understand our technology well enough to create effective and engaging material. As a last attempt, an associate referred us to Runmark. I was surprised by how well their marketing team understood our technology during our first discussion well enough to have a truly meaningful discussion about it and immediately create valid ideas around the messaging. To my surprise, technology was second nature to them. This is the kind of marketing team technical and engineering folks can work with with ease. The usual conceptual barrier between engineers and non-technical professionals (here, marketers) doesn’t exist with them. They “get it”. It was not necessary for my team, as the technical experts, to boil it all down to simpler terms and to do half the work for them. It was an enormous relief to have found Runmark. I highly recommend them as they have continued to support our marketing efforts with the same talent. ***** Adding to our collaborative relationship with Runmark, we have found they can provide Graphic Design Assets for Applicaitons We Build: As software developers of highly interactive and complex graphical user interfaces, we require graphical art that is not only aesthetically appropriate for the user, but also must be provided in sets and states that consider all the technical conditions that can arise on the screen as visual indicators for the user. As an example, multi-state buttons (active, pressed, hover, disabled, etc.) require multiple images to be provided by the designers. There is a delicate dance of nuance between the technical aspects of the images and the necessary states displayed on the screen. Based on our experience, there are usually tedious and time-consuming iterations between the developers and the designers to get the images just right once they’re implemented into the code of the application and displayed in their true environment. With Runmark, we’ve been highly impressed. Runmark’s team understands all of states and nuance to do the graphics correctly the first time. Once the set is delivered, it fits into the application correctly as is. We don’t have to go back and get different backgrounds, different sizes, etc. It is very pleasant to work with them because it makes our job much easier. We don’t have to spend time on iterations explaining why art has to be changed slightly from a technical aspect to work properly in the app.
