nia high1 StarI got hired was on the phone by the first day. NO TRAINING. They push that you don’t need experience and will train but they don’t. They have you watch a computer video and the trainer is gone most of the day. By day 2 I was pulled into the office and asked why no sales were made and day three I was fired. It’s just not worth it you’re better off applying elsewhere with a turnover this high. Plus it’s selling newspapers in 2021. Good thing I didn’t quit my main job and this was just supposed to be part time.Wednesday 8th December 2021
Annika Rasmussen2 StarPros: Steady hours
Flexible attendance
Felon friendly, if you have a clean record- go elsewhere because better opportunities await.
Cons: the shift manager Stela is crazy and has a management philosophy of keeping subordinates successes down- whether it's from her own insecurity about keeping her job or it came from higher management to minimize commissions paid out, we were never sure. She is the worst manager I have ever had.
Some of their newspaper clients, like the Colombus Dispatch, act in ways that seem borderline fraudulent to their customers you'll be calling, especially the elderly.
Protip: when they show you their sales board saying some people make $x/hr ask why only like 3 to 7 agents out of 50 cubicles are making more than minimum wage. Don't be fooled.
Pat, Marge and Eric were great shift managers. Lisa, their manager, is great too but could work on being more honest and transparent with her employees.
This is not a corporate culture where success that depends on everyone is rewarded to everyone.
Google: Circulation Technicians Inc to read their other reviews. They changed names but the company and management and treatment of employees remain virtually the same in most aspects.
I wish Cirtech and it's employees all the best in the future. I'm not bitter, I wish a review like this had existed for me when I was on the job hunt and hope that it helps to create better working conditions for people whom I care about who still work there that deserve better than being gaslighted by management, better than minimum wage after a decade of employment, and deserve to be treated and invested in as assets to the company and management deserves the peace of mind of being honest and forthright with their employees.Sunday 9th June 2019
Rachael Schwindt1 StarI had an interview Tuesday and was told I would recieve a call by Friday to schedule orientation for this Monday. I never recieved a call, so I called them to find out what was up and I was just told "that class has already been filled."Saturday 20th June 2020
